Report to State

Each Year the Sacred Springs District sends one Cub Scout and one Scout to represent the district at the capital.

Know a scout who is deserving of representing our District? Please nominate them below.

2026 Report to State Nominations Closed

2027 Nominations open December 2026

What is Report to State?

Scout delegates from our council and across Texas will gather every February to update state leadership on the community service provided and accomplishments realized over the past year. There is no cost for any of these activities.

What does a typical Report to State look like?

There are two versions of the event:

A) The day starts with a separate breakfast for the delegates. Scouts, Scouters, alumni, and family head to the Capitol grounds for the Scout Spirit rally followed by the Report to State presentation in the Texas House of Representatives. Eagle Scouts of all ages are invited to take part in the Eagle Scout re-commitment ceremony.

B) During years when the Legislature is in session, our delegation breakfast and program will be combined in one event in the Capitol annex.

March 2026

Camporee

2026 Sacred Springs Camporee
March 6th – 8th @Wessendorff

The Camporee staff are excited to be returning to the “Narrows” this year! This Camporee is set in a Post-Apocalyptic world theme.

Over the decades, your way of life has changed: supplies, water, and necessities are extremely limited. Your scout skills will be tested as you cross the wild lands to reach “Tomorroe Morroe Lan.” This is a rare meeting in this new world where so many of us are gathered, and we will share our skits and songs at campfire after a long day of scavenging for supplies.

The full Event Guide is available HERE and registration is open at BLACKPUG LINK TO COME. Registration closes on March 1 so please register now and email timmie.smith@gmail.com ASAP with your expected number of patrols and participants so we can plan rotations.

What is Camporee?

A camporee is a fun weekend filled with Scouts BSA skill competitions and meeting other Scouts from around your area. The camporee skill competitions take place by patrols (a patrol is a group of 8-10 Scouts within a troop). These competitions usually cover fundamental outdoor skills like fire building, knot tying, or cooking… or they could just be activities just for fun like relay races, memory games, and more. All camporee events are friendly and intended to motivate Scouts to master basic skills, engage in respectful competition, and further develop youth leadership and teamwork.

About Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby is one of the most exciting family traditions in Cub Scouting. Scouts build small wooden cars—often with help from their families—and then race them down a track powered by gravity.

Every Scout gets to design their own “grand prix” car and see their hard work fly! Win or lose, Scouts learn craft skills, fair play, and great sportsmanship—and they’ll remember it for years.
