It has come to our attention that several unauthorized flyers are circulating within our councils. Many of these materials are being created using AI Image Generators, leading to significant issues with branding and policy accuracy.
The Risks of AI-Generated Flyers
While AI tools are convenient, they often fail to meet the standards of Scouting America. Please be vigilant for the following:
- Distorted/Incorrect Logos: AI frequently “hallucinates” or blends logos, creating unofficial versions that do not represent our brand identity.
- Policy Misrepresentation: AI-generated text or imagery may depict activities that violate the Guide to Safe Scouting or current youth protection policies.
- Uniform Inaccuracies: Generated images often show incorrect patch placements, outdated uniforms, or non-compliant gear.
How to Stay Compliant
To ensure your unit is represented professionally and safely, please follow these guidelines:
- Use Official Assets: Only use logos and templates found at the official Scouting America Brand Center.
- Verify Content: Ensure all activities promoted align with the latest Scouting America Policies.
- Human Review: Always have a leader or council representative review promotional materials before distribution.
Remember: A professional appearance builds trust with parents and the community. Let’s keep Scouting’s image consistent and “Prepared. For Life.”
