Cub Scout Break Out
Crossover Ceremonies
- Purpose of Crossover: To mark a scout’s transition from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA, starting them on the Trail to Eagle.
- Crossover Planning: Includes considering timing (typically Spring, after completing AOL requirements), location (COR organizations, churches, BSA facilities), and whether to combine with Blue and Gold events.
- Crossover Components: Elements of a good ceremony include welcome, changing of the guard, presentation of arrows, AOL patch and pin, crossing of a bridge, acknowledgment of leaders and parents, and refreshments.
- Types of Ceremonies: Can be Pack-led, Pack and Troop-led, Order of the Arrow-led, or a combination.
